Yes, you can claim the health insurance premium that you paid in 2021 for 2022 as a medical expense.

To be clear, need to know that the expense is deductible for the 2021 tax return.  Implied in the answer, but want to make sure. Thanks

Yes, expenses paid in 2021 can be claimed on your 2021 return. 

You can deduct your qualified unreimbursed medical care expenses that exceed 7.5% of your adjusted gross income and, you must itemize your deductions on IRS Schedule A.
