Can I E-File My Federal Taxes While in a Registered Domestic Partnership?
I’m in a Registered Domestic Partnership in California, and both my partner and I are filing as Single at the federal level while reporting our community income. When I first started this process, I thought I read that we would need to mail in our returns rather than e-file. Now, as I’m getting ready to file, the software is giving me the option to e-file or mail. Should I try e-filing to see if it works, or is it better not to risk it and just mail the returns?
