Can i file federal as married filing jointly and then file state as seperately? What are the rules in allowing this? both work in same state, Arkansas.

if i file separately it gives me more money, which is why i want to know if its actually advised.

Yes, it is possible. Your state Arkansas allows filing Married filing Separately when you file jointly for Federal.
