Can I file return with out ITIN no for my son...he is 6 year old but does not have ITIN no?

It depends - You can file your tax return but you will not be able to include your son as your dependent without an Social Security Number (SSN) or Individual Taxpayer Identification Number (ITIN).

To apply for an ITIN, you would use Form W-7 and would need to attached your tax return to this form.

Please note, you will not qualify for the Earned Income Credit (EIC) without a valid Social Security number (not an ITIN) for yourself, your spouse (if filing jointly), and any qualifying children.
