You would have to be able to claim the children as your dependent on your 2020 tax return in order to receive a stimulus payment for them. To claim them as your dependent, basically you need to furnish over 1/2 of their support and they would have to live with you for more than six months during the year. If so, you can file your tax return with TurboTax for 2020 and the program will ask you the pertinent questions to see if you can claim then as dependents and to determine if you are due a stimulus check.
