Can I find out if my wife claimed me for 2019? We have been separated for 2 yeas although she only filed for the divorce in Feb of 2020. What should I do?

The only way to find out if your wife filed a Married Filing Joint return that included your information and your income would be to file your own Married Filing Separate tax return. (If you have not lived together for the last six months of the year, and you have children that live with one of you, then that person may qualify to use the Head of Household filing status).

If you file your own return and it is rejected, then the reject code will let you know if you have been included as a main taxpayer on a joint return or if you have been claimed as a dependent.
