My husband passed 1/18/2021 and my file keeps getting rejected. I filled in date he passed away.

What else do I need to do?

I changed myself to primary and his name as secondary.

You are allowed to file 'married filing jointly' on the Federal 1040 tax return with your deceased spouse as the primary taxpayer.

What message do you receive when the tax return rejects? Is it related to reversing the taxpayer names?
