Yes, you can manually enter your tax information. You don't need to upload a picture. Just start your taxes and when prompted how to enter your tax information, just choose "I'll type it in myself".

If you want to manually enter a W-2, see How do I import or enter my W-2?

Remember: You'll definitely need to file a 2020 return with the IRS if you had:

  • $400 or more in self-employment net earnings (gross income minus expenses); or
  • Marketplace health insurance and you received advanced payments for the premium tax credit.

If you're being claimed as a dependent on someone else's 2020 return, like your parents', go to Do I need to file my own taxes if I'm a dependent? Otherwise, if you're not being claimed as a dependent, refer to the chart below.

  • For additional requirements on when you should or when you are required to file a tax return, click here.

Tip: Even if you're not required to file a return this year, file one anyway if you want to recover 2020 federal tax withheld from your paychecks.
