Question

Can I opt out of a form the requires me to snail mail my state return? Then I should be able to e-file, correct?

The WFTC looks as though it makes my entire state return unable to e-file. I was hoping to avoid the hassle of downloading and printing and mailing it. Please help!

Wait for another update to the software.   This was supposed to be "fixed" but it seems to be coming up yet again.  WA has no state income tax, so there is no such thing as a state return for you to e-file or snail mail to WA.   There is some confusion in the software pertaining to the Working Family Tax Credit and they will get it sorted out.

And....there is no reason to rush to e-file right now.  The IRS will not begin to accept or reject e-files until January 29.    If you e-file now, all that happens to your return is it goes to sit on a server to wait.  And while it is on that server, if you discover you made a mistake, you cannot do anything to fix it.   Soon the glitch with the WFTC will be corrected----but wait until later in the month to e-file.

    Hello @xmasbaby0 ,

Thank you for the help. I have already submitted my federal and have gotten notice that it was approved / accepted. I will just wait for the time being to file my state and hope this issue gets resolved, otherwise I can always call support or mail it before the cut-off. You were very helpful and I appreciate you taking the time to answer, thank you!
