Can I pay for my turbo tax now or do I have to wait until I file?

You can pay at anytime. If you click the File Tab (the one inside the program next to State Taxes and then Review), the first step will be to pay for any TurboTax products you are using. You can complete that first step and then stop and go back to whatever section you are working in currently.
