Can I pay my state taxes now instead of the date I requested when filing?

If you agreed to have your state tax deducted from your bank account, then if you pay early, you run the risk that the state won't get caught up and will deduct it again on the date chosen. They would eventually catch up and refund the double payment, but it may be inconvenient for some time. I would suggest not making a payment now, or at least, call them and ask their advice first.
