Question

Can I send an electronic transfer of estimated taxes after my original extension was rejected? If so, how?

I used the same pin from last year when I filed an extension. Therefore, my estimated tax payment via funds transfer didn't go through. When I resubmitted my extension, TurboTax software assumed that the payment for the extension that was rejected was paid. It was not. I'm now trying to figure out if I need to mail a check to the IRS or if I can resubmit the estimated payment via funds transfer.

Thank you, but is there a way to resubmit the payment through turbotax?

Direct payments to the IRS can only be done through the IRS payment website - https://www.irs.gov/payments

TurboTax cannot be used to pay any type of taxes owed.  When you have taxes owed and what the payment to be paid from a bank account using direct debit, the bank information you enter is sent with the tax return or the extension request and the IRS then debits the account based on that information.

A 2021 tax extension can no longer be filed as the deadline was April 18, 2022.
