Can I show losses on eBay if I don't receive a 1099 ?

Unless you receive 20,000 you don't receive a 1099

If you sold personal items on Ebay, you cannot claim a loss so there would be no tax reporting in regards to the sale of those objects.

Only a business can claim a loss.

If you have a business selling items, and part of that business involves selling on Ebay, use your own records.

Businesses file Business returns or Schedule C with their 1040.
