TurboTax gets no information from the IRS regarding your income tax returns, your refunds, or your stimulus checks, nor can TT intercede with the IRS on your behalf.    You will have to sort this out with the IRS yourself.

Here is some information regarding the stimulus checks, which were issued for tax years 2020 and 2021.

The first stimulus checks were issued in 2020; the first one was for $1200 for adults and $500 for qualified children dependents under the age of 17.   The IRS was in a hurry to send out those checks so they sometimes used information from your 2019 return to send out the check.  Or sometimes they sent it after you filed your 2020 return.

The second stimulus was sent in late 2020 or early 2021; that one was $600 per adult and $600 for qualified children dependents under the age of 17.

The 3rd stimulus check was $1400 for adults and $1400 for any dependent you claimed, and was sent out in 2021.

If you did not receive the first or second stimulus check,—Sorry—it is too late.  The deadline to file a 2020 tax return and get that credit was May 17, 2024.

If you did not receive the 3rd stimulus check, you can get it by filing a 2021 tax return and use the recovery rebate credit in Federal Review.    The stimulus amount will show up on line 30 of the Form 1040.

Check your own bank account for deposits of the stimulus checks, and check your online account with the IRS to see what the IRS shows they sent to you.

Try checking your online account with the IRS (and if you filed a joint return—check for BOTH of you)

If you need to trace a payment that the IRS says has been issued to you, mail or fax a completed IRS Form 3911, Taxpayer Statement Regarding Refund.

Please explain here, though, how you are getting these "threats" from the IRS.   Did they send you a letter?  The IRS does not call you.   If someone is phoning you and claiming to be from the IRS, it is a scam.  Do not give any information to anyone over the phone if they are claiming to be from the IRS.

Thank you for replying.  I file my income taxes using Turbo Tax, I always answer "no" to that question Turbo Tax always asks.   I can prove I did not receive two first stimulus checks, only one and the IRS speaking with many staff, many calls by me calling the IRS, the IRS has in its system they sent me two stimulus checks, and they were cashed by me.  Not true, I can prove it, but I can't get to the right person to who can provide me advice what to do short of paying, if I indeed owed it, I would of course pay them I do not owe them I did not cash two stimulus checks.  It was sent during the pandemic, the USPS mail stopped processing mail especially internationally living in Mexico, it took six months for the letter to arrive stating a stimulus check was on the way and six months to get the check.  I called the IRS asking if it was okay to deposit it since the check was so old and the staff I spoke to said yes it should still be good.  I am being contacted by letters, the only landline number they provide, which I did not know, is to staff to take my money and I learned this from the last conversation in December 2024.  She said I need to contact accounts management, I asked if she could transfer me, she said no, I asked if she had a contact number for that department, she said no.  So, the IRS sends these threatening letters but do not provide a means to get information for what I need to do and where to send my documentation proving I do not owe them for a second stimulus check, I only received one.  I wasn't wanting Turbo Tax to intervene in this situation, I was just hoping they would know of a good landline phone number (800 numbers I cannot dial) besides the collections department.  The taxpayer advocates, calling them they say they won't respond for six months, probably because they are bombarded that the IRS sent out these threats to many people, tongue and cheek here.  I don't know if I go ahead and fill out the taxpayer advocate form if they will contact the IRS.

Also, someone mentioned if I file jointly, no I divorced my husband 2014 and never even dated after that, done with it.  But I kind of wonder if the IRS has me mixed up with him our names are similar, I did keep his last name.

Check your 2020 tax return line 30.   Do you have $1,200 listed as the Recovery Rebate Credit.     The IRS might be saying you need to pay that back since you got the stimulus check.   Line 30 is only if you didn’t get the check.  You may have tried to claim it again.
