Can I still file an extension after starting filling out forms in Turbo Tax?

I received some tax forms and I wanted to start entering them in Turbo Tax. However I am not sure if I can receive all the forms in time to file my tax return in April. Is Turbo Tax's "file an extension" function still available after I start working on "2023 Tax"? And if it is, after I file an extension, will Turbo Tax wipe out what I've entered for 2023 Tax or will I be able to return to where I was and continue to finish 2023 filing later? Thanks!

Requesting an extension for your 2023 tax return will not wipe out the information you have entered so far. It will be saved. It is too soon for the extension request. That usually becomes available sometime in March.
