sorry for your loss. you can file jointly for 2020. since you are a surviving spouse no special forms are needed. I'm assuming you did not remarry in 2020.

 

if your home was the main home for the entire year for a dependent child or stepchild and

you do not remarry in 2021 or 2022

you can file as a qualifying widower for those years (same as filing joint)

You can file jointly in 2020 if your wife passed away during that year.

Yes, you can file jointly in the year of your spouse's death if you did not remarry.
