If you are filing by mail then look on page 2 of your Form 1040 ----near the bottom you will see the words "Sign here"----you sign and date it in ink.  If it is a joint return both spouses need to sign.

 

If you are e-filing then you "sign" electronically by entering your AGI.  There is no physical signature on the tax form when you e-file.
