If you report self-employment income on schedule C, you can deduct "ordinary and necessary" business expenses.  So if you are in the business of raising bees or selling honey, and you report income on a schedule C, you can deduct any expenses.  If this is a hobby, you can't deduct expenses related to a hobby.
