Can I use a cheaper version of Turbo Tax, since I am no longer self=employed?

Why can't I use the basic (or deluxe) version of Turbo Tax.  I used Home and Business for 2016, but don't need it for 2017, and do not want to pay for the more expensive version.  How can I fix this?

You can downgrade using the clear and start over feature. However, you will be required to restart your return. Please keep in mind that our various TurboTax programs handle different tax situations and their associated forms.

In TurboTax Online, you can erase your return and start from scratch as long as you haven't submitted payment, deducted the TurboTax fee from your refund, or registered.

  1. If you haven't already done so, sign in at TurboTax.com and select the blue Take me to my return button.
  2. On the welcome back screen, in the left-side menu, select Tax Tools, and then select Clear & Start Over (see attached Tax Tools)
  3. Answer Yes in the pop-up to confirm.

I have a couple of problems.

I had used the turbo tax home and business for several years.  For 2020 I no longer had a side business.

I also had to purchase a new laptop but is doesn't have a disc drive.  I need to down load my Turbo Tax via the internet, how do I do this.
