Can I use turbo tax to pre pay a one time federal tax for 2023?

The only way to use TurboTax for a 2023 estimated tax payment is to use the TurboTax 2022 desktop editions to print out a Form 1040-ES.  Print and mail the Form 1040-ES to the IRS with your payment.

It would be much easier to use the IRS payment website for the 2023 estimated tax payment with Direct Pay - https://www.irs.gov/payments

The IRS processes the payment immediately and you receive a confirmation number that the amount requested was paid.

Using the TurboTax 2023 editions you can enter all 2023 estimated tax payment you have made.

To enter, edit or delete estimated taxes paid (Federal, State, Local) -

Click on Federal Taxes (Personal using Home and Business)
Click on Deductions and Credits
Click on I'll choose what I work on (if shown)
Scroll down to Estimates and Other Taxes Paid
On Estimates, click on the start or update button

Or enter estimates paid in the Search box located in the upper right of the online program screen. Click on Jump to estimates paid
