my employer gave me a 1099 Misc on a Lawsuit for back wages and overtime. My employer split the payment in 2 checks so half the money is this 1099 misc and no taxes were with held so how should I file this?

Yes, what your employer did was correct.

Post the W-2 under:

  1. Income and Expenses
  2. Job (W-2)

    INTUIT, Summit

To post this type of 1099-MISC you would go to:

  1. Income and Expenses
  2. Other Common Income

    Tax refunds, 1099-G, 1099-NEC, 1099-MISC, 1099-K

  3. 1099-MISC

  4. Continue the interview to the end
