Can my parents claim me as a dependent?

I am 23 and lived with my parents until August. I was enrolled as a full time Grad student the entire year. I got a full time job in August and moved out. Is there an income limit for them to claim me or since they supported me for the majority of the year and I was a full time student can they claim me regardless?

Yes, based on the information given you are a qualifying child for your parents. There is no income limit for them to claim you since you were under the age of 24, a full-time student, and lived at home for more than half the year. If you did not provide more than half of your own support for the year, they qualify to claim you. Please view the full list of qualifications below:

  • Child must be related to you.
  • The child isn't claimed as a dependent by someone else.
  • The child is a U.S. citizen, resident alien, national, or a Canadian or Mexican resident.
  • The child isn't filing a joint return with their spouse.
  • They're under the age of 19 (or 24 for full-time students).
    • No age limit for permanently and totally disabled children.
  • They lived with you for more than half the year (exceptions apply).
  • They didn't provide more than half of their own support for the year.
