I’ve tried on desktop through windows and on the app through my phone. Both are the same results, the question is regarding who is claiming the dependent which is the other parent per custody agreement. I’m not sure why once I click the selection of “other parent will claim” in both boxes it reboots me back to the same question, I’ve even tried clicking different answers and still will reboot me back to the question it is the only thing keeping my refund from going being submitted

Don't know that one.....But if you are not claiming the child for anything else this year...you could just remove that dependent entirely in the My info section.

But some folks don't want to do that, since (apparently) it's sometimes possible get some other credit (EIC???), even if the other parent is claiming the child for the regular child tax credits.

And No, I do not think you have "Desktop" software.  Working thru a browser on a desktop is still the "Online" software...and Online software links with the Mobile app.

Desktop software installs all the software on the computer, and works only on the computer itself, not thru a browser, and has no link to the Online or Mobile versions
