I put in my IRA total basis as of December 31, 2018 as requested but system is saying it's different than what was transferred and it's not.

it is difficult to troubleshoot this specific issue without being able to look at your screen. At this point you may wish to contact a specialist that can work through that section of the return with you. The specialists can look at your return on their screen and then ask you questions to help reconcile your 8606 form.
