Question

Can someone tell me what to do if you were charged the $39 to file, but your taxes weren't actually filed yet? It only lets me proceed by paying another $39.

I put in my CC card and return info, and thought I filed but when I log in it says, "almost ready to file, just a few details need reviewed". And the only way for me to go through with actually filing is paying another $39 which I will not do.

You are posting from online Deluxe.   Did you also prepare a state return?   If you prepared a state return there is another fee for that.   Or did you choose refund processing?   If you chose to have your fees deducted from your federal refund there is an extra fee of $39.99 for that.

How can I see my TurboTax  fees?

Ok ... if you are talking about the 2021 return did you just efile the federal return to start with?  The program fee for the fed (not the efiling fee) was $39.  Once the federal has been accepted then you can file the state and the state program had a cost of another $39.  If you had efiled both at the same time you would have paid the same $78 program fee ... there is no extra fee to efile the return.

I want to efile. Nothing has actually been filed, but I was charged $39. I am not doing the charge of fee out if my return as my federal return is less than the $39. In the status of federal return it says ready to file. State return says: all info saved.

The state program using the Deluxe online edition is an additional $39 which is also the same price as the Deluxe edition for a federal return, $39.

The program is probably asking you to pay for the state return so it can be e-filed at the same time as the federal return.

If you do not want the state return e-filed or you do not want to pay for the state program, let us know and we can tell you how to change to mailing the state or deleting the state.
