Can state e-file be pre-paid...

Trying to decide if I want to e-file or snail-mail.

I already bought the Download/CD Premere with State...

Filled out everything, and don't owe, and don't get a return.

Tried watching the videos on the TT site to answer this question, but the advertisement for the next video covers most of the screen for the last 40% of the video so.... it's not helpfull at all.

Anyhow,

1. Is there a way to pre-pay  the $25 e-file fee.... OR ...

2. When does TT require you to pay the e-file fee: while your're trying to e-file, or after you've done so?

Thanks in advance

You pay your e-file fee when you submit your tax return.

It was a very stressful time to try and pay for the state, nothing was very clear! Click to "pay by credit card; on next screen hit "continue" and put in information to pay by credit card" and at the last screen you will see what you are paying. ($25) I found the site very confusing as I did not want to pay the $45 for protection.
