Can't get W-2

Me and my  husband moved recently, we put in for a change of address but my husbands previous employer sent out his W2 and it either didn't get picked up to be sent to our new address or it got lost. We got his 1095 form from them but not his W2. He has tried calling him them and they wont budge or help him on ANYTHING. Said they can't email it, can't send him a new one, that he will just have to wait for it to get sent back to them or it'll just eventually get sent here. We tried calling the IRS and they told him they can't do anything unless he has his estimated income and the estimated taxes taken out from 2020. We don't know what to do at this point because his previous employer deleted his online account to download any paystubs or his W2. Is there any other way we can get his W2?

You can get a free "Wage and Income" transcript form the IRS but that is is not a copy of the W-2 and contains no state information.

https://www.irs.gov/individuals/get-transcript

You can get an exact copy of the W-2 from the Social Security Administration for $90 per copy.
