Can't import Charles Schwab 1099 into 2024 turbotax deluxe desktop for Mac

I attempted to import my 1099 from Charles Schwab into the 2024 turbotax deluxe desktop addition on my MacBook Pro.   I get this error message:

"We found duplicate installations of TurboTax 2024"

There are No other installations of Turbotax on my PC.

All other financial institutions come up with the login page for their respective institutions and the imports work. In addition I tried importing Charles Schwab from previous turbotax installs including 2023, and 2022 and Charles Schwab comes up just fine.

Please see this link for guidance on troubleshooting your program.  If the updating steps do not help, please refer to the installation help and the link to remove and reinstall TurboTax for Mac as sometimes this helps resolve the error message and will allow you to proceed.

Once you resolve the initial error message regarding having multiple installations of TurboTax, proceed to follow these steps to import your 1099 information.

Same problem for me. I have used turbo tax for a few years on the same MAC. There is no CD with the new MAC. So the message is completely bogus. The only suggestion posted so far is not helpful at all.

Could it be the older Turbo Tax from previous years causes the confusion?

Or could it be because the turbo tax is installed in an non-admin account?

There was an update last night that MAY have solved your issue. Make sure you have the most updated software and try again.
