Can the amount I owe change? Turbo Tax showed I owed about $1300 to IRS, when I looked at my bank account, IRS only took out $41.Today dl my return , and now it says $41

This is good, but I don't want it to bite me in the butt later. And no I did not choose the payment plan, I was going to use the stimulus to pay it.

It depends.

Usually, if the IRS makes any sort of adjustment to your tax return, they will mail you a letter or notice letting you know of any changes.

You can use the following link to determine the status of your payments and account with the IRS directly. This is your best option at this point in time.

What about your state return? At the end Turbo Tax shows you a summary of the net combined federal and state. But that is only for your info. You have to pay them separately.
