Yes.  Each year is separate.  You can install several year programs on the same computer at the same time.    Your  tax returns are kept in a separate data file ending in .tax2017, .tax2018 & .tax2019.   What are you trying to do?  Did you already transfer 2018 into a new 2019 return?

From what I can see 2018 was transferred correctly including the data.  But 2019 would not transfer. I was able to recover the e-mail sent to me after my purchase of TT 2019 from Target, I was able to down load TT2019. On the old computer I had already entered the 2019 tax data because I needed to know if I needed to make a tax deposit for 2019 on 1-15-20. The 2019 tax return has not been filed yet.  It would be nice and save me a lot of time if I could find .tax2019 on the old computer and transfer it to the new computer via thumb drive. But  if it is found on the  old computer I do not know how to get it on the thumb drive and then get it on the new computer.

Thank you for your response and any help given.

Here's how to securely move your data to your new computer while minimizing the chances of data corruption:

  1. Make sure your new computer has TurboTax installed on it.
  2. Connect a thumb drive or other portable device to your old computer.
  3. Copy or move your tax data file to the device. (We recommend copying instead of dragging and dropping.)
  4. After copying, disconnect or eject the portable device and connect it to your new computer.
  5. Browse to the portable device, select your tax return file, drag it to your desktop (or other easy-to-find location), then release the mouse key and copy (instead of moving) the file.
  6. After copying, open TurboTax, browse to where you copied your tax file and open it to make sure it didn't get corrupted.
    • If your file somehow got corrupted, delete it from your device and your new computer and repeat these steps from the beginning.

Hope this helps!
