Can you add your unemployment information even though there is no state identification number on the form and taxes were taken out

Yes. If there is no state identification number in box 10b of your 1099-G, then you can use the Payer's TIN (tax identification number). Please see the screenshot below for additional guidance. 

 

 

Please follow the instructions below to enter your 1099-G: 

  1. Open your return.
  2. Search for 1099-G with the magnifying glass tool on the top of the page.
  3. Select the Jump to 1099-G link in the search results. 
  4. Follow the on-screen instructions.
