Question

Can you explain why my taxes are lower than the tax tables on the IRS website? Line 15 is $39,019 but does include cap gains. Is there a worksheet somewhere?

I would like to find a worksheet that incorporates qualified dividends and capital gains so that I can keep tabs on 2021.  Tax table had me at $4,287 but Turbo Tax has me at $3,444.  Just trying to understand.

Yes, if you have capital gains or qualified dividends, then there should be a worksheet titled something like "Qualified Dividend/Capital Gain Worksheet" which will show how your tax is calculated.

Note that there may be other situations where the tax is not taken from the Tax Tables, but the "Qualified Dividend/Capital Gain Worksheet" is the most common one.
