Can you use a w-2 from 2023 that you didn’t add, for this year (2024)?

People are currently preparing 2023 tax returns that are being filed in 2024.  ALL of your 2023 W-2's go on a 2023 tax return.  You cannot put W-2's from any earlier year like 2021 or 2022 on a 2023 tax return.   If you have a W-2 that was not entered on last year's tax return you need to amend that tax return to add it.

No, if it was earned in 2023, it needs to be reported on your 2023 tax year return. (The return most of us are working on now)
