Cannot import Vanguard Brokerage 1099-R to Turbotax

While I was able to import without problem my Consolidated 1099-Divfrom my Vanguard Brokerage account using the account number and Document ID provided, I have had multiple failures using the same format (acct. no., document ID specific to each 1099-R) for the 1099-Rs provided by Vanguard for my RMDs. Not sure which end is the source of the problem (Vanguard or TurboTax).

Would also mention that the 1099-DIV I received from Vanguard for dividends prior to changing to Vanguard's brokerage platform in November required me to manually enter the data into TurboTax, as my ID and password no longer would allow import from Vanguard to TurboTax as it had in past years.

Please advise re/1099-Rs.

TurboTax can only import information (documents) that brokerage firms like Vanguard make available on their end.  It is not uncommon for taxpayers with multiple tax forms with the same broker, bank, insurance company, etc. to not be able to import all of their tax documents.  As for your 1099-Rs, you will have to enter them manually.  If you reported distributions from the same retirement accounts last year, most of the information for your 1099-Rs should have rolled forward from your 2022 return to your 2023 return.

I manage to resolve the mentioned issues on my own, but it's so far in the past (I filed on 02/05/2024) that I don't remember the details.

Turbotax only offers two Vanguard login options and neither one will work.
