Cannot print and save pdf file - Turbotax Premier 2024

Turbo Tax Premier 2024 doesn't save any pdf or print as of 2/26/2025. Saw an earlier post from 2/2/25 that had the same issue. How has it been resolved? Also there is no issue with my printer and/or computer. Other printing tasks have no issues.

    Before anyone can "Maybe" help.

You need to tell us what software AND what computer system you are using

    1)  "Desktop" installed software...or "Online" browser-based software?

    2)  MAC or Windows computer?

    ___________________

Certainly, I've had no problems with the Windows Desktop software (Premier version).

Online browser version and MAC computer. Please note that there was a workaround suggested in the forum (somewhat detailed process described) that did work and I'm done. Thank you. However, Turbotax (which I have used for over 15 years) needs to do a better job of coding something as basic as the Print program - unacceptable to have this type of an issue, which obviously is a nagging one for many others also.

An investigation has been opened on this issue. We are working to resolve it.

Mine is Win10 OS on an overbuilt system.  The problem is in TurboTax2024.

After about 5 minutes the (not responding) flickered and a save as window opened behind other windows on the desktop.   Traffic in the resource monitor was Turbotax reaching out on the internet.  Turbotax is installed local as to avoid cloud use, but it looks like Intuit is grabbing the info anyway.

Also noted the text in the save as window was a different font than normal and tiny.  So small it is almost unreadable.

still not working! when will this issue be resolved? This is a basic system function,  Makes one wonder what other errors are in this program.

I have the same problem and I am using desktop version for Mac

I can't  print, share or make it a PDF , so in essence it's useless to me. I need a work around to solve this basic issues. Poor software

Are you using a Mac? There is a known issue with creating PDF documents. Please see the link below.

Why am I not able to Save to PDF on TurboTax Desktop Mac?

I had this problem on the my Mac (VenturaOS, Intel Chip) with the Desktop Premier version.
    This workaround worked for me.

    Instructions:

On the TurboTax menu, goto File > Save to PDF...

wait a few seconds to process then use the default or rename the > Save As:

use the default (it is where you saved your TurboTax .tax2024 file or choose a desired file location > Where:

    > Save

Now, that it is saved and if so desired you can open the pdf file using another app and print it.

    That's it!

Sadly, the work around doesn't work for me.

Turbotax charges so many money but couldn't deliver the basic feature, sad.

I am thinking this may be more an Adobe issue than Intuit.  Both companies are making every attempt to exploit your personal informational and deliver it to their cloud.

When you save to PDF just wait.  A minute, 2 minutes?   Eventually the save dialog will show up.  I doubt you can print directly from TurboTax.  I don't have a printer.  One could further test who, Intuit or Adobe, by disabling Intuit/TurboTax and Adobe access to the internet via the firewall.  Turn the ports on one by one seeing which one accesses and how long.  the delay is a time out.  Most likely Adobe trying to see if they can sell you anything or popup a window with cool features that you click and get a bigger longer sales pitch.

If it is Intuit, they will not fix it.  They will continue to claim they are not using the cloud.

@tjpsnj Naw... this is a TurboTax issue and only affects Mac users with the desktop editions.

I have test accounts online that immediately download a PDF of the online tax return.

And I have real tax returns using the TurboTax desktop edition for Windows that has no problem immediately cresting a PDF or printing the tax return from the PDF in the File section of the program.

If you go back to the beginning of the thread you will see I am the second that asked the question and requested action.

Since I have upgraded Windows to 11 and still have the same issue saving the PDF so that I can review the numbers are all on the correct line.

You pointing out it is MAC also makes me think even more it is an Adobe issue.  Even Reader itself is incredibly sluggish reaching out to Adobe cloud to find what it can attempt to popup and sell you something.  Either way it will be cloud related.  The time you wait for the save as... dialog to show up is about the same every time.  It is a time out.  Likely Adobe promised to suppress 'buy me duns' as Intuit Turbotax calls up the PDF.  If it was not the cloud or Adobe, it would be fixed already.

No response from intuit makes it quite obvious they are not going to fix "good as it gets".  Pay your 95 bucks and eat it like the rest of us.  Hope they can actually protect their clouds as they suck up our PII.
