I purchased Turbo tax premier online and paid for that.

Next I notice a $50.00 charge from Turbo tax and then the next day, I see a $45.00 charge from Turbo tax.

Did you buy and install the Desktop program and activate it with the 16 digit License Code?  Sounds like you might be in the Online version by mistake.   Or are you filing a state return?  In the Desktop program it is $20 or $25 to efile state or you can print and mail state for free.  And there is a $40 fee (45 in California) to have it deducted from a federal refund.  Go back through the File tab slowly and see what its charging you for.  There is one screen that can trip you up.  And it is $45 if you need to buy a different state program.

Where did you buy it?   If you bought it from Costco or Sam’s there was a $10 Rebate.  So $10 would come off the first thing you got charged for.  Did you enter your credit card for anything?    $50 could be the $60 expert help for Desktop minus the $10.   That button is in the upper right by Forms.  Is it still there?   I don’t know what it says if you clicked on it.

I bought the turbo tax on amazon for 82.99

I did click the link for the VA state tax - which was $25.00 and the NJ state tax was $25.00

But have no idea why I was charged for the extra $45.00  I didn't buy anything else

Did you e-file the state?  The state e-file fee is $25 but there was a thing where it was giving some people one for $20.  You would have been warned about this fee when you went to transmit your state return.
