Claiming a credit for income previously taxed

Hello,

Due to an administrative error, my W2 for tax year 2023 includes some income that had previously been included in my income in a prior tax year. Getting a corrected W2 is not possible. I assume I should just claim a tax credit on Schedule 3, line 13b for the extra tax due in 2023 due to the incorrect income in 2023? Is there a better way to do this than by directly updating that form and line in TuboTax desktop?

Thanks.

IRS Form 4852 exists for this purpose.  Here's a link to the form and its instructions:
