Claiming wife's child this year. She is covered by her fathers state insurance. will using his 1095a form screw us up?

No.  You will need to enter the 1095-A on your return since you are claiming her as a dependent.  Then you will need to enter that you share this policy with another person and enter his SSN and allocate 0% to you and 100% to him.  He will then need to allocate 100% to himself and 0% to you also selecting that he shared the policy with another person.
