class action settlement 1099 misc

Received 1099 misc for 2020 related to class action suit. had box 3 and box 10 attorney fees filled out.

Turbotax forces me to fill out sch c even though i am not self employed. How do i fix this

Here are the steps to follow

Delete the 1099-MISC entry that you have now

Federal

Wages and Income

Other Common Income

Form 1099-MISC

Fill in Box 3

Then click my form has other info in Boxes 1-17
That will give Box 10

Give reason for 1099-MISC as lawsuit settlement

Then select This was money from a lawsuit settlement on next screen

Answer question about back wages and continue with return
