form done but won't let me file. Keeps asking for employer id but haven't worked for 3 years since I had a stroke.

    If you receive any income on a Form 1099-R or a 1099-Misc, you may have entered it in the Wages section, so TurboTax thinks it was pay from an employer and is asking for the Employer ID.

     

    If that is the case, click this link for instructions on How to Enter a 1099-R.

     

    To DELETE an incorrect entry in the W-2 section, type 'w-2' in the Search window, then click on 'Jump to w2'. Click on the Trash Can icon to delete an incorrect entry.

     

    However, if you did receive a W-2, perhaps from an insurance company for Long Term Disability payments, you can EDIT your entry to Add the Employer ID (screenshot).
