Concerning Social Security worksheet line 1B. Social Security benefit taxes

Why did TurboTax identify all my SS benefits as non taxable due to living in a foreign country when all information inputted says I lived in Iowa, USA all year?  The IRS has sent me a demand for more taxes claiming (I think correctly) that my AGI was under reported.

    We have been seeing some users who missed a screen that came right after they entered SSA1099.  On that screen you are asked if you lived in certain foreign countries.  If you did not answer correctly, your SS was not taxed correctly and the IRS caught the mistake.
