I have 0 deductions, yet when I file 0 for everything, it says that my maximum itemized deductions is $2,184. My Illinois state refund has gotten denied 2 times now from 2020 and I don't have anyone to help me. I don't want this to haunt me in the future and I just want to make it 0 but I don't know how. I no longer have my w2 from 2020.

your situation is unclear.  Illinois does not allow itemized deductions so that should not be the reason for rejection.  what did the Illinois rejection message say the problem was? was there a code or message. you cannot e-file it.

contact your employer for a duplicate 2020 w-2. if they refuse your only recourse is to request a copy from the Social Security Adm for which there is a fee of $126, The IRS does not maintain state data.
