Deleting a 1099-MISC from previous year

I deleted 1099-MISC forms that were used in 2017 and were not issued in 2018. They keep on reappearing without details and show up as needing to be fixed because they don't have a payee ID.

How do I remove it/them permanently?

It shows you are using a MAC desktop -

For a MAC desktop,

  • Load up your tax return on your computer
  • Switch to "Forms" mode - the icon in top left corner of your program
  • You should now see a list of the forms in your return on the left-hand side of the program
  • Find the 1099-MISC forms you wish to delete and click on it (will likely say 1099-MISC Wks)
  • This should bring up the 1099-MISC form in your active window
  • Click on the Forms option on your menu (top of your screen you should see your Apple icon, then TurboTax, then File, Edit, View, Forms, Easystep, Flags, Window, and Help - click Forms)
  • There should be an option to remove the 1099-MISC from the dropdown menu under Forms

You might want to also check to see if you have any blank Schedule C forms that were related to those 1099-MISC forms and delete them also.  (Obviously, be careful that you don't remove anything that should be in your return - just blank forms).

This should remove the 1099MISC forms from this years return and stop them from transferring next year.
