I was having problems with entering 'personal property tax' item and was getting an "We hit a snag' message. Then, application crashed. I reopened the app and still am receiving 'snag' message (and ask me to revisit last topic) and doesn't allow me to enter info. Need help to identify how to move on. Thanks.

I'm using desktop. Just quit the application and opened again; the bug still exists, I can't complete that entry. Should I call the help line and speak to someone directly?

That was happening earlier this year, to people who used a "Supporting Details" (SD) worksheet to enter those numbers last year......and an empty SD sheet transferred into this year's file for that field.

The fix (if I recall right) was to switch to Forms Mode to make the entry.....go to the proper field in the form to enter the $$$, then either enter the $$ in the SD sheet that pops up,   OR   when the SD sheet opens, you can delete it entirely, and then then the interview will work properly when you go back to the interview.

At least that's what I recall.

Yeah, some strange software bug, and I don't recall if any later updates were supposed to fix it.

To clarify, what do you mean by "personal property tax"

On a vehicle or something else?

    Which section were you entering?

Its was under the 'Deductions and Credit' section, then 'Cars and other things you own', then 'Personal Property Tax'.

I just tested this issue and had no problem entering as either Car Registration or Personal Property Tax, in either Online or Desktop. You may be having a different technical issue.

If you are using TurboTax Online, check your Internet connection. Logging out of TurboTax and back in, changing browsers (Chrome generally works well), or clearing your cache and cookies often helps.

See this help article for troubleshooting steps if you are using a Mac device and you confirmed that you have all of the minimum system requirements.

If after trying all of the options mentioned you still have the same problem:

See this help article for instructions on how to contact TurboTax customer support depending on which product you are using.
