My 3 year old daughter started attending a Private Christian School's preschool program while I am at work in 2021. I wanted to make sure I understood correctly that those tuition expenses are able to be put towards the Dependent Care Tax Credit. When I clicked on the more info box for TurboTax it said,
Do not include:
 - Private schools (except preschools)

Am I reading this correctly, that tuition expenses are fine to include for a preschool program built into a K-12 Christian Private School?

Yes. Nursery school, preschool, and similar pre-kindergarten programs are considered child care by the IRS. Summer day camps also count as child care.

Expenses for overnight summer camps, kindergarten, and first grade (or higher) don't qualify for the Child and Dependent Care credit. However, expenses for before- and after-school care of a child in kindergarten or higher grade can be considered child care.

@ColeenD3 I am needing assistance with listed property recapture. Should I pay for turbo deluxe for this?

Doesn’t seem to allow me to speak with anyone. I am currently utilizing turbo self employment.

TurboTax self-employed is a more comprehensive version than Deluxe. You would be downgrading. Please see the other post re: recapture.
