Question

Dependent & tax rejection

My dependent turned 19 & we both thought she no longer could be claimed by me. She filed her taxes claiming herself. I just did my taxes & found that I can still claim her since she went to Cosmetology school. My taxes were rejected since she would be claimed twice, so we amended her taxes & re-submitted them today. How long should I wait to retry e-filing my taxes? Shall I just try once a week until they're accepted?

Unfortunately you will need to file a paper return because there is no way to get around the e-file system once your dependent has already filed and claimed themselves.  Paper file with your dependent included on your return.

This article will give instruction on how to print and mail your return.
