i filed my refund over a month and a half ago. There finally was a deposit to my bank on Friday 03/26/21 but the whole amount due was not submitted there was about a little over $600.00 that was short. why is that

The amount of $600 indicates it could possibly be a stimulus payment (second round) that was showing as not received on your return, but IRS records indicated it was sent. Since your refund was adjusted the IRS will send a letter explaining the changes.
