Desktop software crashes repeatedly when retrieving state forms (Windows Premier)

I downloaded the desktop premier software in order to finish my very late 2018 taxes. The software crashes whenever it:

 

  • Tries to download the state form
  • Attempts to save when I get to the state section on a new return
  • I attempt to sign in

I'm not sure if it's related to any time it tries to access the internet/turbotax server. However it has been very aggravating. I have tried uninstalling/reinstalling, repairing, administrator privileges, windows 8 compatibility mode, etc. It seems to open my saved return fine but I get an error 190 message saying I need to download the state forms, but when I attempt to do so, it crashes.
