This is a user community forum, so we can only speak in general about the process.  No one can know anything specific about your return.  But we can tell you some things to check.

Did you go all the way through the FILE section and clicked on a big orange button "Transmit My Returns Now?"

If so, you should get 2 emails--the first saying your return was transmitted, and followed by another email in 24-48 hours (or sooner) saying if the efiled return was accepted or rejected.   If you efiled a state return, you should also get an email saying if the state return was accepted or rejected.

You can check the efile status by logging into your Online Account and looking at the Tax Home.  What is displayed there now for the status?    Does it say "pending?"   If you recently efiled, it will say "pending" until it is either accepted or rejected.

When you check your efile status at the Tax Home inside your Online TurboTax account, if the efile status says anything other than pending, accepted, or rejected, then you did not complete the efile process.  If at some point the status shows "rejected", then that means the efile was rejected by the IRS, and that you will need to correct something and resubmit the efile.

The IRS says 9 out of 10 filers who efile and choose direct deposit will get their Federal refunds within 21 days after being accepted. Some returns are processed fairly quickly, while others require additional processing due to specific items in the return. Some are pulled at random for more thorough investigation.

Once your return is accepted, you can use the IRS "Where's My Refund" tool to monitor the Federal refund.

TIPS when using the IRS WMR tool:

  • Be sure you have waited at least 24 hours after acceptance before using the IRS WMR tool.
  • Be sure you enter the correct SSN and filing status.
  • Be sure you are using only the Federal refund amount.   Do not include any state refund or any total refund or net refund (Fed and State) that TurboTax may have provided on a screen.
  • Also be sure you are using the Federal amount before any TurboTax fees are taken out (if you chose that option.)
  • Look at your actual Federal return to get the Federal refund amount, i.e., your Form 1040, Line 35a.
  • You can also try phoning the IRS refund hotline.  I've seen it work for some users when the WMR tool didn't.  800-829-1954

I reworded the following paragraph in my answer above to hopefully make it more clear.  You may have been emailed the original answer.
