Question

Did the stimulus sub through TurboTax, got an email that I haven’t filed my 2019 and the irs needs my 2018 agi before I do 2019 taxes, will that stop my stimulus payment?

Here is the email body “Everything is almost done, and your return is ready to be e?filed, but you’re missing one little thing. The IRS has security rules in place that require your 2018 AGI (adjusted gross income) to confirm your identity before sending off your 2019 tax return. Sign in today and we’ll help you finish up.” The stimulus submission shows as accepted by the irs and  I didn’t file 2018 or 2019, I just did the stimulus submission that TurboTax came up with so I’d like to know if this will affect me getting the stimulus payment?

You can find your 2018 AGI if you used TurboTax last year you can view your 2018 AGI by selecting Documents on the left hand side of your screen.  Select View Documents from: Select 2018 on the drop down menu.

OR

You can obtain a copy of last year's tax transcript online using IRS link:   Transcript

OR

If you have a copy of your 2018 tax return, your AGI is located on line 7.

Did you fill out the Stimulus Registration for folks who do not have a 2018 or 2019 Filing Requirement?  If so, you have already filed a return for 2019 to the IRS.  This return will may be rejected when you try to electronically file it.  You would be required to file an amended 2019 return instead.
